It is an innovative mobile phone-based learning system that helps children learn spoken English in an engaging and fun-filled manner anytime anywhere free of cost. The Pathshala Funwala is designed to improve the learning outcome of children in villages and cities pan India. The launch event witnessed the characters Abbu & Dabbualong with Vidya Balan dramatically recite the modules to the invitees.

The mechanics are extremely simple – children just need to give a missed call on the toll-free number 8055667788, to receive a call back which starts the learning session. This new initiative features peer-to-peer teaching between two characters – Abbu and Dabbu who learn the use of English words in a jovial fun filled conversation. The words are taught in a very simple manner using music, jingles and short stories, making learning interesting and enjoyable.
